Another name for this Surah is Fussilat. This is a ‘makki Surah that has 54 verses. The Holy Prophet (Sal Allaho Alehi Wasallam) has said that for each letter of this Surah that is recited, ten rewards are given.It is narrated from Imam Jafar as Sadiq that the one who recites Surah Hamim Sajdah will have light shining on front of him on the Day of Judgement and his life in this world will be praiseworthy. If this Surah is written in a container and rainwater is then collected in it and put on one’s eyes, then it alleviates all eye problems.
